General Situation: Large strong high pressure system in the Western Atlantic Ocean continues dominate the weather pattern across the Bahamas through the weekend. Fresh to strong breezes will continue to affect our Bahama Islands this weekend with a gradually improvement into early next week.

Friday 23rd – Partly sunny, warm and windy with spotty showers likely during the day. Partly cloudy and breezy with some quick passing showers likely at night. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft advisory continues for the entire Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 20 to 25 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 5 to 8 feet in the NW Bahamas and 6 to 9 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Saturday 24th – Partly cloudy, breezy and warm with some scattered showers continuing during the day. Partly cloudy and breezy with widely scattered showers mainly in the Central and SE Bahamas at night. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small advisory remains in effect for the NW Bahamas but declines to caution later and an advisory continues for the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 20 to 25 knots early but decreasing to 15 to 25 knots late. Seas 5 to 8 feet in the NW Bahamas decreasing to 4 to 7 feet later and 6 to 9 feet early but decreasing to 5 to 8 feet late.

Sunday 25th – Partly cloudy, breezy and warm mainly across the Central and SE Bahamas with some scattered showers during the day. Partly cloudy to fair skies at night with passing showers likely. Maximum temperature 83°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft caution in effect for the NW and Central Bahamas and an advisory continues for the SE Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 15 to 20 knots for NW and Central Bahamas declining to 10 to 15 knots late and E’ly at 20 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas declining to 15 to 20 knots late. Seas 4 to 7 feet for the NW and Central Bahamas decreasing to 2 to 4 feet late and 5 to 8 feet in the SE Bahamas decreasing to 4 to 7 feet late.

Monday 26th – Partly cloudy to cloudy with some scattered showers across the NW Bahamas during the day and partly sunny and warm with isolated showers elsewhere. Mainly fair and mild at night with the chance of passing showers for all areas. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft should exercise caution in the Central Bahamas and an advisory for the SE Bahamas. Winds ESE to SSE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times; E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the Central Bahamas declining to 10 to 15 knots late and E’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas, declining to 15 to 20 knots late. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas; 4 to 7 feet in the Central Bahamas decreasing to 2 to 4 feet late and 5 to 8 feet in the SE Bahamas decreasing to 4 to 6 feet late.

Tuesday 27th – Partly sunny and warm with passing showers throughout the day. Mainly fair and mild at night except for cloudy periods with possible scattered showers in the SE Bahamas. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 71°F. Small craft should exercise caution in the SE Bahamas early. Winds E to SE at 05 to 10 knots across the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times; E’ly at 12 to 18 knots in the Central Bahamas and NE to E at 15 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas at first declining to 10 to 15 knots late. Seas 1 to 3 feet across the NW Bahamas; 3 to 5 feet in the Central Bahamas and 5 to 8 feet early in the SE Bahamas, falling to 2 to 4 feet late.

Wednesday 28th – Mostly sunny, and warm in the NW and Central Bahamas with isolated showers except partly cloudy and a bit breezy with few scattered showers in the SE Bahamas. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 71°F. Winds E to SE at 10 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times; E’ly at 12 to 18 knots in the Central Bahamas declining to 10 to 15 knots late and NE to E at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas decreasing to 10 to 15 knots late. Seas 1 to 3 feet in the NW Bahamas; 3 to 5 feet in the Central Bahamas decreasing to 2 to 4 feet late and 4 to 6 feet in the SE Bahamas decreasing to 2 to 4 feet late.

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise caution due to high surf and the risk of rip currents along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories.
