General Situation: A strong high pressure system in the Western Atlantic Ocean will continue to produce brisk winds over the area as it extends a larger ridge across the Bahamas. The ridge will continue over the Bahamas for the entire week but it will shift eastward through the weekend. In the meantime, a stationary front will move north the Bahamas and dissipate by Wednesday followed by a second dissipating front north of the Bahamas on the weekend.

Monday 12th – Partly sunny, windy and warm with the chance of a few passing showers today. Fair, breezy and warm at night. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 73°F. Small craft should exercise caution across the NW Bahamas and an advisory is in effect for the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 20 to 25 knots in the Central Bahamas but E’ly at 20 to 30 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 7 feet but higher in E’ly swells across the NW Bahamas, 7 to 10 feet in the Central Bahamas and 8 to 12 feet across the SE Bahamas in moderate to large NE’ly to E’ly swells.

Tuesday 13th – Partly cloudy and warm with few passing showers mainly across the Extreme NW Bahamas through nightfall. Elsewhere in the Bahamas mostly sunny, windy and warm with few spotty showers likely, turning mainly fair, breezy and warm with the chance of a passing shower at night. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft caution continues across the NW Bahamas and an advisory continues for the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 15 to 20 knots across the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 7 feet across the NW Bahamas and 5 to 8 feet across the Central and SE Bahamas but higher in moderate to large NE’ly to E’ly swells.

Wednesday 14th – Partly cloudy and warm with few showers across the NW Bahamas, turning fair and warm at night. Partly sunny, windy and warm with the chance of showers mainly across the Central Bahamas, turning partly cloudy to fair and breezy at night with the chance of one or two showers. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft advisory remains in effect for the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 5 to 8 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas, but higher in moderate NE’ly to E’ly swells.

Thursday 15th – Mostly sunny and warm with passing showers likely, partly cloudy to fair with the chance of a few passing showers at night. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft should exercise caution in the Central and SE Bahamas with an advisory for the SE Bahamas by nightfall. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, increasing to 15 to 25 knots late in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas, building to 5 to 8 feet in the SE Bahamas late in NE’ly to E’ly swells.

Friday 16th – Mostly sunny and warm with the chance of few isolated showers mainly in the SE Bahamas and fair and warm at night with the slight chance of showers. Maximum temperature 83°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft should exercise caution in the SE Bahamas. Winds SE’ly at 10 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times, E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 3 feet or less in the NW Bahamas, 2 to 4 feet in the Central Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Saturday 17th – Mostly sunny and warm with the chance of a few isolated showers mainly across the Central and SE Bahamas. Partly cloudy to fair at night with a stray shower or two likely across the Central and SE Bahamas. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft should exercise caution in the SE Bahamas. Winds variable at 10 knots across the NW Bahamas, E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 3 feet or less in the NW Bahamas, 2 to 4 feet in the Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Sunday 18th – Mostly sunny, warm and a bit breezy with the chance of a shower or two mainly across the Central and SE Bahamas. Mainly fair and warm at night with the chance of isolated showers. Maximum temperature 83°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft caution continues over the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the NW Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas.

Beachgoers and Mariners should exercise caution due to high surf and the risk of rip currents along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Boaters and beachgoers should be alert for possible waterspout activity and take all necessary precautions to protect life and property.
