Biting into a piece of rich, creamy chocolate not only makes for happy taste buds but a happier and more love-filled life as well.

This is thanks to a chemical in chocolate called Tryptophan which helps trigger the sensation; making chocolate the perfect addition to celebrations in February – the month of Love.

This Valentine’s Season, Bootleg Chocolates, which has developed a name for itself as Grand Bahama’s premier artisanal chocolate boutique and factory, has set out to spread the love of chocolate across the country, starting with famed radio and television personality Ortland H. Bodie Jr., host of The Real Deal talk show.

“I was pleasantly surprised to hear about Grand Bahama’s very own Chocolate Factory” gushed Bodie. “The flavors they produce are so unique, I was immediately intrigued,” he said.

Bootleg’s General Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing, Amanda Ormerod-Mullen, appeared as Bodie’s special guest during the February 2nd taping of his live show in Nassau, Bahamas.

She brought with her samples of their one-of-a-kind chocolate flavors which have become a sought-after commodity for high-end boutique hotels, premier events, and corporate customers across the country.

“We were excited to get the invite. Mr. Bodie is known for being no-nonsense and very honest, so I was very interested to get his opinion on our products,” Amanda said. “He was extremely welcoming and really put my mind at ease.

I’m glad we had the opportunity to share our passion for chocolate with him and with a wider audience”.

Her chocolates were also on display and available for purchase at the 3rd annual Tru Tru Bahamian Festival which is an event sponsored by the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association and Ministry of Tourism at the John Watling’s Distillery on February 3rd and 4th just in time for Valentine’s Day where she had the opportunity to speak with the Hon.Dionisio D’Aguilar, Minister of Bahamas Tourism and Aviation, and Mr. Carlton Russell, the President of BHTA about owning and running a small local business in the Bahamas.

This Valentine’s Day, the Bootleg brand is offering a variety of gift boxes in all sizes including their now famous handmade edible chocolate heart box.

“These chocolate heart boxes come in 2 sizes and come filled with a chocolate surprise or you can fill them with one of your own,” explained Amanda.

“Each chocolate heart is carefully crafted, and hand painted so they are as unique as the person you plan on giving one to” she said.

As an additional treat, this Valentine’s Day Bootleg will offer 3 special batch flavors – White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake, Hazelnut, and Peanut Butter-Sesame Caramel and 2 new uniquely Bahamian flavors - White Chocolate + Goat Pepper and Switcher.

These will be featured alongside the brand’s ever-popular chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate lollipops for the kids who can also create one of their own at Bootleg’s chocolate making class for children on Saturday, February 10th.

Persons interested in spreading the Love this Valentine’s Day can do so by visiting Bootleg’s factory outlet and quaint retail shop, located at the Port Lucaya Marketplace in Grand Bahama; by emailing the company at info@bootlegchocolates.com, calling the shop at 242-373-6303 and liking their Facebook: Facebook.com/BootlegChocolates, and Instagram Page, bootlegchocolates.
