KFC Nassau is proud to announce that more than $45,000 has been raised through its annual fight against hunger, the Add Hope campaign. Of the donated funds, nearly $40,000 has stayed in The Bahamas and has been given directly to Hands For Hunger, one of the Bahamas’ premier hunger relief organizations.

The Add Hope hunger relief campaign, held in November and December, invited KFC Nassau’s customers, employees and the local community to join in the fight against hunger by making a monetary donation at any of the brand’s eight locations in Nassau. The Add Hope Campaign benefits local hunger relief and food rescue agency Hands for Hunger, as well as the United Nations’ World Food Programme, two advocacy organizations that provide life-saving food to those who need it most.

Hunger poses great risks to the health, well-being and education of those in need. Initiatives like Add Hope play a pivotal role as its efforts serve local communities by raising funds to support charities in sustainably addressing the hunger epidemic.

“We’re proud to have once again unite our customers, employees, and the local public behind such a relevant cause”, said Eldira Backford, Ambassador for KFC Nassau’s Add Hope Campaign. “Initiatives like this that channel funds towards feeding those in need and partnering with organizations like the WFP and Hands for Hunger, that has the ability to go deeper within our communities to provide food to those facing hunger, is vital,”

KFC Nassau held its award and cheque presentation on January 15th, 2018, honoring the brand’s staff who played a critical role in the Add Hope Campaign, and proudly presenting Hands for Hunger with a cheque for $38,882.92 to assist in providing food assistance to Bahamians through their 17 social service agency partners on the island. KFC Nassau has been a proud corporate supporter of Hands for Hunger for many years through its weekly food donations, helping to tackle the country’s challenge of food waste and its shared passion for adding hope to the lives of Bahamians facing hunger daily.

“Hunger relief is a natural connection for both KFC Nassau and Hands for Hunger, and we’re proud to have them as our local recipient of the Add Hope Campaign”, continued Backford. “The success of the campaign shows that if we pool our resources and work together, even the smallest of contributions can have a major impact in the lives of many Bahamians.”
