Runners, from around the Bahamas and the world, will be taking part in this year’s Sunshine Insurance Race Weekend. The Caribbean Bottling Company will return as a sponsor for the sixth consecutive year to hydrate runners with locally produced Dasani water, during the two-day event.

In addition to the Caribbean Bottling Company’s sponsorship of the race weekend, a number of the company’s employees have volunteered to distribute water to the thousands of runners, walkers and joggers who will take part.

“We are happy to be on board as a Gold Sponsor for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5k and Marathon Bahamas” said Nikia Wells, Marketing Manager – Caribbean Bottling Company. “This is our sixth year being a sponsor, and it is always exciting to see thousands of people, from all fitness levels, age groups, and backgrounds taking part, raises funding for breast cancer awareness and pushing themselves on race day.”

Sunshine Insurance Race Weekend organizer, Chakita Archer, noted that she is excited that Dasani and the Caribbean Bottling Company are, once again, supporting the races. “We are extremely delighted to have Caribbean Bottling and Dasani back as a Gold sponsor for the race weekend. With any athletic event that we have in the Bahamas – especially one of this magnitude - we need water. And, it is good to know that we have the full support of Dasani.” Acher added, “For the past several years, Dasani and the Caribbean Bottling team has not only helped us to create a greater awareness about cancer in our country; they have also been an avid supporter of our aim to raise funding to assist those battling and overcoming cancer.”

Over the past several years, Dasani has hydrated a number of Bahamian race and athletics events, around the country, including the Bahamas Half Marathon, CIBC Walk for the Cure, and the Atlantic Medical Fun Run Walk.
