General Situation: A developing surface low pressure system east of the Bahamas will move eastward as a surface trough drags southward through the SE Bahamas. Meanwhile high pressure system north of the area will produce brisk winds over the NW Bahamas. As low pressure system moves north and east of the area, trough will linger near the SE Bahamas. High pressure ridge will provide moderate to fresh breezes over the area through early next week while a cold with pre-frontal activity will approach the area.

Friday 01st – Partly sunny, breezy and warm with passing showers likely, turning partly cloudy to fair skies at night with a passing shower or two. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft should exercise caution for the NW and Central Bahamas. Winds NE’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas and NE’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times. Seas 4 to 6 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Saturday 02nd – Partly sunny, breezy and warm with passing showers likely during the day. Partly cloudy to fair at night with a passing shower or two. Maximum temperature 81°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Small craft should continue to exercise caution across all areas. Winds NE’ly at 15 to 20 knots over the entire Bahamas and Seas 4 to 6 feet across the entire Bahamas.

Sunday 03rd – Mostly sunny, warm and breezy with isolated showers mainly over the NW and Central Bahamas and partly cloudy, breezy and warm with widely scattered or isolated thunderstorms in the SE Bahamas. Fair and breezy at night in the NW and Central Bahamas and partly cloudy and breezy with widely scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms across the SE Bahamas. Maximum temperature 81°F and minimum temperature 70°F. Small craft caution continues for the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds NE’ly at 10 to 15 knots over the NW Bahamas and NE’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas.

Monday 04th – Partly to mostly sunny, warm and breezy with some scattered showers ad isolated showers across the Bahamas. Partly cloudy to fair skies and warm with few passing showers. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 71°F. Small craft should continue to exercise caution. Winds NE to E at 15 to 20 knots for all areas and seas 4 to 7 feet over the ocean for all areas.

Tuesday 05th – Partly cloudy to cloudy scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms during the day through nightfall. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 71°F. Small craft advisory in effect for all areas. Winds E’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the NW Bahamas and easterly at 20 to 25 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 5 to 8 feet over the NW Bahamas and 6 to 9 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas.

Wednesday 06th – Partly to cloudy with or isolated thunderstorms, some heavy at times during the day through nightfall. Maximum temperature 83°F and minimum temperature 71°F. Small craft advisory across all areas early but becoming a caution across the Central and SE Bahamas later. Winds SE’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 20 to 25 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas early. Later winds SE’ly at 12 to 18 knots across the NW and Central Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet in the NW Bahamas and 6 to 9 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas at first but 3 to 5 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in the SE Bahamas. .

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise caution due to high surf and the risk of rip currents along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Boaters and beachgoers should be alert for possible waterspout activity and take all necessary precautions to protect life and property. Residents should be alert for the risk of localized flooding during heavy downpours and prolonged rainfall events.
