KFC Nassau, along with KFC restaurants worldwide, is proud to announce the launch this month of its annual Yum! Brands-sponsored hunger relief initiative, Add Hope.

This corporate social responsibility initiative at KFC Nassau helps to “add hope” to the lives of those without access to adequate nutrition by raising funds and non-perishable food item to assist Bahamians in need.

Customers are encouraged to participate in the brand’s fundraising initiative by making a small donation at any of KFC Nassau’s eight convenient locations by simply adding a donation to their order, or by placing a donation in the hunger relief donation box at the restaurants’ front counter.

From now through December 17th, KFC Nassau is asking for the support of the local community, its staff and consumers to join in its philanthropic efforts to help raise awareness, funds and much-needed food resources to help alleviate hunger in our local communities.

With every dollar raised during the Add Hope Campaign donations will benefit two charitable organizations.

The majority of funds raised, and 100% of all donated food, will go to the Bahamas’ local hunger relief charity Hands for Hunger, which services over 14 local outreach agencies that provide emergency hunger relief assistance for Bahamians.

Part proceeds from each KFC Nassau location will go to benefit the United Nations’ World Food Programme (WFP), the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. KFC Nassau also supports Hands for Hunger continually throughout the year by donating surplus and uncooked food items to support the agency’s relief efforts.

“As a business in the food-service industry, we are committed to helping provide essential resources to those facing the critical effects of hunger daily. We know that we can’t solve this epidemic alone, but through strong partnerships,” said Eldira Backford, Ambassador for KFC Nassau’s Add Hope Campaign.

“It’s through organizations like Hands for Hunger that we’ve been able to effectively reach and help provide food to those in need in our local communities and we're glad to partner with the organization again this year.”

In the last four years, the relief efforts of the KFC Nassau Add Hope Campaign has raised over $175,000 thanks to the continuous and generous support of the brand’s consumers, staff and the Bahamian community. This year, the brand looks forward to yet another successful year to add hope to many lives in the Bahamian community.

“We greatly appreciate our customers, staff and partners for their continued support and contributions that have grown each year, enabling the Add Hope Campaign to increase its reach and impact in providing food resources to Bahamians in need. The brand looks forward to a successful campaign this year, where even the smallest contribution can have a major impact,” Backford concluded.
