General Situation: A trough across the Central Bahamas will trigger a few showers as it shifts north-eastwards over the next few days. Meanwhile a cold front will move through the NW Bahamas today and tonight, followed by building high pressure ridge on Tuesday. The front will continue into the Central Bahamas through Tuesday before stalling and dissipating as it moves back north as a warm front by Wednesday. By mid to late Sunday another cold front will enter the NW Bahamas closely followed by another cold front early next week.

Wednesday 22nd – Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across the Central and SE Bahamas during the period. Partly cloudy to fair skies with few isolated showers likely by nighttime. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 72°F. Winds variable at 10 knots or less for all areas. Seas 3 feet or less over the ocean for all areas.

Thursday 23rd – Partly cloudy to cloudy with showers nad thunderstorms mainly in the Central and SE Bahamas, then spreading across the NW and Central Bahamas by nightfall. Maximum temperature 83°F and minimum temperature 68°F. Winds variable at 10 knots or less over open waters and seas 3 feet or less over

Friday 24th – Partly sunny and warm across the NW Bahamas with few scattered showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm, turning mostly fair and mild night. Partly to mostly cloudy and warm with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 67°F. Winds SSE to SSW at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas, falling light and varable at times and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the ocean for all areas.

Saturday 25th – Partly to mostly sunny and warm with few scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms across the NW and Central Bahamas. Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the SE Bahamas through night time. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 67°F. Winds SW to W at 10 to 15 knots veering W to NW at 10 to 15 knots late in the NW Bahamas; SSE to SSW at 10 to 15 knots veering more W’ly at 10 to 15 knots later in the Central Bahamas and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas to 4 feet over the ocean for all areas.

Sunday 26th – A mix of sun and clouds with few scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms during the day. Fair to clear skies over most areas at night. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 66°F. Small craft should exercise caution across the NW Bahamas early and across the NW and Central Bahamas by nightfall. Winds W to NW at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas; W to NW at 10 to 15 knots, increasing to 15 to 20 knots later in the Central Bahamas and W to NW at 10 knots or less in the SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 7 feet over the NW Bahamas; 2 to 4 feet in the Central Bahamas building to 4 to 6 feet later and 1 to 3 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Beachgoers and Mariners should exercise caution due to high surf and the risk of rip currents along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Boaters and beachgoers should be alert for possible waterspout activity and take all necessary precautions to protect life and property. Residents should be alert for the risk of localized flooding during heavy downpours and prolonged rainfall events.
