Solomon’s shoppers in Grand Bahama will be inspired to live healthier lifestyles thanks to a new Nutritionist-On-Duty program launched in stores this month. Local health and wellness advisor, Tarentee “Coach T” Laing will offer tips during weekly sessions focused on incorporating proper nutrition, diet and exercise into daily routines.

Coach T, Managing Nutrition Advisor and Fitness Professional at the Cardio Blast Experience, will hold information-packed sessions lasting two hours. Every week, he will be stationed at both Solomon’s Lucaya and Solomon’s Queen’s Highway to equip shoppers with the tools needed to make choices for better living.

The program fits into parent company AML Foods Limited’s focus on offering healthier food options to customers and providing opportunities to share knowledge on nutrition, overall health and wellbeing.

On the recently launched partnership with Solomon’s in Grand Bahama, Coach T highlighted the impact the program could potentially have on shoppers.

“This partnership with Solomon’s and Cardio Blast Experience is geared towards educating customers and members of the public on the healthy options available at Solomon’s stores.

During the sessions, we will outline products available in the stores and provide details on the health benefits of each product,” Coach T explained.

“Our aim will be to encourage customers to focus on better living by showcasing the healthier items Solomon’s has made available to the Bahamian populace. We want shoppers to be more health conscious and to have the information needed to combat the chronic diseases plaguing our country.”

Participants will receive practical tips on meal planning, best nutritional food choices and eating healthy on a budget. Daneisha Clarke, Marketing Assistant at Solomon’s Grand Bahama and the program’s coordinator said there is always more to learn about becoming healthy and maintaining wellness.

“The goal of the Nutritionist-On-Duty program is to educate our shoppers so that they can make healthier choices. We want to provide participants with practical, everyday strategies to incorporate into their daily lives,” Ms. Clarke said. “We expect residents of Grand Bahama to find the program useful no matter where they are in their health and wellness journey and we look forward to having Coach T in our stores.”

The weekly sessions with the Nutritionist-On-Duty will take place every Tuesday at Solomon’s, Queen’s Highway from 12- 2:00pm and every Thursday at Solomon’s, Lucaya from 12-2:00pm. The sessions are free to the public.
