ALIV celebrated its first birthday this past Saturday November 11, 2017 with The University of The Bahamas (UB) on its Charter Day at its President’s Gala Soiree held at the Harry C. Moore Library.
Ahead of the soiree, ALIV donated $50,000 which was earmarked for the Student Scholarship Endowment Fund to provide scholarships to first generation university students. On October 30th ALIV announced a three-year $2.2 million-dollar partnership with UB to boost educational and athletic endowments. Chief ALIV Officer (CAO) Damian Blackburn spoke briefly before the night got underway and said that the collaboration between UB and ALIV is in tandem with ALIV’s efforts to always meet and surpass expectations on many different levels, especially education.
“Our partnership will no doubt bring the UB campus ALIV – both here in New Providence and Grand Bahama. Education is very important to ALIV and we know this partnership will transcend the barriers of the institution itself. We expect that the students, most importantly, will take full advantage of all we bring to the UB experience. Ultimately, our goal is make the UB experience fully. hope that through our support UB students are driven to excel in their academic interests, and following completion of their degrees or programs – secure fulfilling careers and family-sustaining employment.”

The partnership with UB would also allow opportunities for ALIV for branding around the campuses as well as the opportunity for ALIV to provide infrastructure and equipment to the university in the area of information and technology. The partnership will also benefit the Athletics Department at the university.
“ALIV will have reseller exclusivity on all university campuses and centers in the form of kiosks and devices and a percentage of the revenue generated from the kiosks will be given back to the university,” Chief ALIV Business Developer Gravette Brown said recently. “We will also create a UB community affinity group for alumni; a donation from the revenue generated from that will also be donated to the university. As our CAO has said, our goal is to always meet and surpass expectations and we believe this partnership with The University of The Bahamas will allow us to do just that.”
