One day I heard
someone chastise their father. He was a black man who was down in age
and momentum. Their justification for this was that this man had all
his life to work hard and save the wealth that he would have accumulate
over the years for his children. Yet to look at him now, a broken down,
tired, and a burden to his family. I wasn't so quick to judge this man.

I have begun to question everything
as I have stated before in my recent articles. I have decided to empty
my mind and start afresh in order that I am able to filter the truth
from the lie that was planted within me.

Most middle-aged black
Bahamians who struggle hard today blame their parents for their current
condition. Some of them may be correct in their reasoning as to why
things turned out the way they did. Many of them lived in homes where
both parents worked hard but there existed disconnect between mother
and father...
