GENERAL SITUATION: A ridge of high pressure will dominate most of the Bahamas with brisk winds as a surface trough across the Northwest Bahamas moves into the South Florida region this evening through tonight. Another trough/low pressure will produce unsettled weather across the SE Bahamas late Wednesday into early Thursday, then traverse across the Central and NW Bahamas late Thursday into Friday enhanced by an upper level trough over the area. As trough exits the Bahamas Saturday a ridge will rebuild across the area.

Tuesday 10th – Partly cloudy, hot and breezy with spotty showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm across the NW Bahamas and mostly sunny, hot and breezy with the chance of showers in the Central and SE Bahamas.Partly cloudy to fair skies at night with few passing showers likely. Maximum temperature 90ºF and minimum temperature 77°F. Small craft should exercise caution over the entire Bahamas. Winds NE to E at 15 to 20 knots, with gusty winds up to 25 knots late. Seas 4 to 7 feet over the ocean for all areas, but up to 8 feet in higher gusts.

Wednesday 11th – Partly to mostly sunny, warm and breezy with few scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms mainly across the NW and Southeast Bahamas. Fair and breezy at night over most areas except for cloudy periods of showers and isolated thunderstorms across the Central and SE Bahamas. Maximum temperature 88ºF and minimum temperature 78ºF. Small craft should exercise caution over the NW and Central Bahamas. Winds NE to E at 15 to 20 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas and NE to E at 10 to 15 knots in the SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times. Seas 4 to 7 feet across the NW and Central Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Thursday 12th – Partly cloudy, warm and humid with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over parts of the NW and Central Bahamas through nightfall. Mostly sunny and warm elsewhere, turning fair and warm at night. Maximum temperature 87°F and minimum temperature 77°F. Small craft exercise caution over the NW Bahamas. Winds Ne to E at 15 to 20 knots across the NW Bahamas and NE’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times. Seas 4 to 7 feet over the ocean in the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas.

Friday 13th – Partly cloudy, warm and humid with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across the Bahamas through night fall. Maximum temperature 89ºF and minimum temperature 77ºF. Small craft should continue to exercise caution over the NW Bahamas. Winds NE to E at 15 to 20 knots across the NW Bahamas and SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times. Seas 4 to 7 feet over the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas.

Saturday 14th – Partly cloudy to cloudy and warm with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms across the Bahamas through night fall. Maximum temperature 86°F and minimum temperature 77°F. Winds SE to S at 10 knots or less across the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, but gusty to near 20 knots in parts of the SE Bahamas. Seas 3 feet or less across the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet across the Central and SE Bahamas, occasionally up to 6 feet in gusts across parts of the SE Bahamas.

Sunday 15th – Partly cloudy to cloudy and warm with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across the NW Bahamas through night fall. Maximum temperature 86ºF and minimum temperature 78ºF. Small craft should exercise caution in the SE Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots across the NW and Central Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet across the NW and Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet across the SE Bahamas.

Beachgoers and Mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and dangerous surf along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Boaters and beachgoers should be alert for possible waterspout activity and take all necessary precautions to protect life and property. Residents should be alert for the risk of localized flooding during heavy downpours and prolonged rainfall events.
