On September 23rd 2017 BAARK! (Bahamas Alliance for Animal Rights & Kindness) will host its fifth triathlon on Jaws Beach.

This year the event will welcome participants from the USA, Canada, and Mexico, as well as many local Tri-athletes. Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC), local producer and distributor of Coca-Cola products, will be the presenting sponsor of the event for the fourth time with sports drink “Powerade”.

“The Powerade Potcakeman Triathlon is delighted to be working with Powerade again as our presenting sponsor for the fourth consecutive year,” explains Sarah Kennedy, Event Director.

“Their ongoing support has been vital to the success and growth of our event in becoming the biggest triathlon in The Bahamas.”

“BAARK! is doing tremendous work across the Bahamas with their Spray/Neuter and education programs,” says Cara Douglas, Marketing Manager CBC.

“We are happy to be able to support their efforts, while supporting our local athletic base here in the Bahamas.”

“Rehydration is extremely important when competing in endurance events so we are very pleased to have high quality hydration options like Powerade and Dasani available for all athletes again this year,” Sarah Kennedy, Event Director, added.

The Powerade Potcakeman Triathlon offers both an Olympic and sprint distance race consisting of a 750swim, 21K bike, and 5K run or double for the longer distance.

Athletes can choose to compete all three disciplines or form a relay team to compete with. Following the adult race is a shortened Puppy Triathlon for children ages 6 – 14. You can register on or before midnight on September 20th here: www.potcakeman.com.

The Powerade Potcakeman Triathlon is now the largest triathlon event in the Bahamas, with over 200 participants and all proceeds each year goes towards BAARK!’s spray/neuter and education programs across the Bahamas. Photo One:
