Be Prepared Before The Hurricane

Mon, Sep 4th 2017, 01:36 PM

Everybody should start making preparations now and do not wait until next week.

Get your hurricane lamps and flashlights, cut branches close to your house, stock drinking water and convenience foods.

Disconnect your propane gas tanks, turn off the gas and put them flat on the ground sandwich between blocks or big stones.

Do not park your vehicles on public roads or on slopes.

Put your important books and documents in two layers of plastic bags just in case your roof is damaged.

Raise your living room furniture on blocks as well, to protect them from water damage.

Unplug all appliances from wall outlets.

Start making ice now and bag them.

If large mayonnaise and large dairy products are on your shopping list for this weekend, change to the smallest items.

Keep your vehicle tank filled with petrol from tomorrow, if you have rugs on your floor, and can do so, take them before the hurricane gets here.

Fishermen, start planning to take your boats out of the water by early next week.

Pray that the Lord will protect us from the ravages of this hurricane, which, at this moment and based on the forecasted track, looks like it will be an almost direct hit on the Leeward Islands by Wednesday next week.

Spread the word about this Hurricane.
