This year’s Grand Bahama Island Regatta and Heritage Festival exploded onto the Taino Beach site over the weekend with the vibrant sights and sounds of Bahamian Culture.

The annual event sponsored by BTC, attracted scores of sailing enthusiasts and lovers of all thing Bahamian cementing its status as one of the premier family fun events of the summer season.

In addition to its commitment to showcasing the best and brightest in Bahamian culture, the event has also served as an opportunity for corporate citizens to support and further develop Grand Bahama’s cultural offerings.

“BTC Northern Bahamas jumped at the chance to expand its role as a corporate sponsor of this year’s Regatta” explained Norther VP Eldri Ferguson-Mackey.

“We truly believe in Bahamian culture and wanted to make sure we lent our support to this event.”

BTC Provided Free Wi-Fi at the Regatta site as well as Top-Up and Discounted device sales for all patrons and participants on Taino Beach.

With the help of BTC’s Brand Ambassadors Wendi, Dyson, Avvy and D-MAC, patrons of this year’s event were treated to high energy and engaging performances of their favorite Bahamian songs.

“This was truly an exciting year for the Grand Bahama Regatta” said Ferguson-Mackey, “All our stakeholders worked extremely hard to put on a world class show and we’re already looking to next year, building on the success of this year’s event.

While entertainment featured prominently at this year’s festivities, no Bahamian Regatta is complete without boat races. Sailors of well-known Class A, B and C sloops from different islands across our archipelago competed in different races for prize monies and the right to be crowned "Champion of the Sea."
