GENERAL SITUATION: Upper level troughing will enhance some showers or thunderstorms over the Bahamas as it lingers near or over the area today through the weekend. Broad surface high pressure continues over the area while meandering between Florida and the NW Bahamas throughout the weekend. A surge of moisture will move across the Bahamas by the weekend with increasing cloudy periods and scattered showers or thunderstorms expected.

Monday 24th – Partly cloudy to cloudy, hot and humid with few scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms in the NW Bahamas during the day through night fall. Elsewhere mostly sunny, hot and humid with the chance of isolated showers, turning fair and warm at night. Maximum temperature 92ºF and minimum temperature 79ºF. Small craft should exercise caution in the SE Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the NW and Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 over the SE Bahamas.

Tuesday 25th – Partly to mostly sunny, hot and humid with few scattered showers or possible isolated thunderstorms mainly in the NW Bahamas during the day through nightfall. Mainly fair and warm at night across the Bahamas. Maximum temperature 93ºF and minimum temperature 80ºF. Small craft should continue to exercise caution in parts of the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds SE’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the NW Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas.

Wednesday 26th – Mostly sunny skies, hot and humid with one or two passing showers and isolated thunderstorms during the day. Fair and warm at night. Maximum temperature 93ºF and minimum temperature 81ºF. Small craft should continue to exercise caution in parts of the Central and the SE Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in parts of the Central and the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in parts of the Central and the SE Bahamas.

Thursday 27th – Partly to mostly sunny, hot and humid with few scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms, during the day. Mainly fair and warm with the chance of passing showers through nighttime. Maximum temperature 92ºF and minimum temperature 80ºF. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E’ly at 12 to 18 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas decreasing to 10 to 15 knots later. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 3 to 5 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas decreasing to 2 to 4 feet later.

Friday 28th – Partly to mostly sunny, hot and humid with few passing showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm during the day. Mainly fair and warm through the night with few passing showers likely. Maximum temperature 92°F and minimum temperature 80°F. Winds SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times. Seas 2 to 4 feet across the Bahamas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times.

Saturday 29th – Partly cloudy, hot and humid with few scattered showers or an isolated thunderstorm across the Bahamas during the day through nightfall. Maximum temperature 91°F and minimum temperature 78°F. Winds variable at 10 knots or less, occasionally Se to S at 10 to 15 knots for all areas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the ocean for all areas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times.

Sunday 30th – Partly cloudy to cloudy, hot and humid with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorm during the day through night time. Maximum temperature 91ºF and minimum temperature 77ºF. Winds SSE to SSW at 10 to 15 knots across the Bahamas, falling light and variable at times. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the ocean for all areas, falling to 1 to 3 feet at times.

Beachgoers and Mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers and thunderstorms. Boaters and beachgoers should be alert for possible waterspout activity and take all necessary precautions to protect life and property.
