GENERAL SITUATION: A surface trough near the NW Bahamas will trigger some unsettled weather over the area as it moves westward tonight. Meanwhile a broad surface high pressure will continue over the area through early next week. Mid to upper level troughing will continue to affect the NW Bahamas with some unsettled weather conditions through Sunday but improving conditions is expected at the start of next week.

Thursday 20th – Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, some heavy at times mainly across the NW Bahamas during the day through nighttime. Maximum temperature 92ºF and minimum temperature 77ºF. Small craft should exercise caution in the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds ESE to SSE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Friday 21st – Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms mainly over the NW Bahamas during the day through night time. Maximum temperature 92°F and minimum temperature 77°F. Small craft should continue to exercise caution in the SE Bahamas. Winds SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet across the NW and Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Saturday 22nd – Partly to mostly cloudy skies with few scattered showers or an isolated thunderstorm across the Bahamas during the day through nightfall. Maximum temperature 91°F and minimum temperature 76°F. Small craft should continue to exercise caution in the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds ESE to SSE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas with higher gusts. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the NW and Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in the SE Bahamas but higher in gusts.

Sunday 23rd
– Variable cloudiness and hot with few passing scattered showers or a possible afternoon thunderstorm during the day through night time. Maximum temperature 92ºF and minimum temperature 80ºF. Winds SE’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and parts of the Central Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in parts of the Central and the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW and parts of the Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in parts of the Central and the SE Bahamas.

Monday 24th – Partly to mostly cloudy with few scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms in the NW and Central Bahamas during the day through night fall. Maximum temperature 92ºF and minimum temperature 80ºF. Small craft should exercise caution in parts of the Central and the SE Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and parts of the Central Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in parts of the Central and the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the NW Bahamas and parts of the Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 over parts of the Central and SE Bahamas.

Tuesday 25th – Partly cloudy, hot and humid with few passing showers or possible isolated thunderstorms mainly in the NW Bahamas during the day through nightfall. Maximum temperature 91ºF and minimum temperature 80ºF. Small craft should continue to exercise caution in parts of the Central and SE Bahamas. Winds SE’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the NW Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas.

Wednesday 26th – Partly to mostly sunny skies, hot and humid with one or two passing showers and isolated thunderstorms during the day through nightfall. Maximum temperature 91ºF and minimum temperature 80ºF. Small craft should continue to exercise caution in the SE Bahamas. Winds SE’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Beachgoers and Mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers and thunderstorms. Boaters and beachgoers should be alert for possible waterspout activity and take all necessary precautions to protect life and property.
