All Systems go at CANTO 2017

The CANTO 33rd Annual Conference and Trade Exhibition is set to take place from 16th -19th July at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana Dominican Republic. For ICT stakeholders this is the Caribbean's premier telecommunications event for industry professionals, academics and regional governments.

Judging from the list of delegates who have arrived, the Conference is set to be filled with a superior standard of pioneering and policy guiding conversations.

Where regional governments are concerned, the present list includes the Hon. Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua & Barbuda, the Hon. Melford Nicholas, Minister of State Information, Broadcasting & Telecommunications, Science & Technology, Antigua & Barbuda, Sen. Hon. Darcy Boyce, Minister of State, responsible for Telecommunications Immigration, Energy and Invest Barbados, Barbados and the Hon. Frank Mena, Min of the Public Service, Energy and Public Utilities, Belize.

Coupled with senior representatives from Huawei, Cable and Wireless, Digicel and TSTT (Telecommunications Services of Trinidad and Tobago) as well as representatives from regulatory Authorities' around the region, the next few days is guaranteed to produce new and views which will indeed inform the future of ICT in the region.

The theme of the conference this year is "Reimagining ICT as a Tool for National Growth and Development" and the fact that it is happening in the Dominican Republic, known for its warm and hospitable people, astounding nature, intriguing history and rich culture, only adds the environment and work to be undertaken over the next four days.

CANTO 2017 and Dominican Republic will certainly occupy ICT news for this week and the year to come.
