This Friday, the stage at the Regency Theatre will be filled with Zombie’s! Not real one’s of course! But lovely local children who joined Camp Centre Stage at the Regency Theatre to enjoy a two-week all-out thespian experience in Freeport.

“This is the third year I have had the privilege of coordinating Camp Centre Stage,” said Past President, FPG Board member and Camp Organizer, Tiffany Dennison. “This year we have elected to do something a little obscure and different. This was important, not just to myself as the specialty make-up artist for the Regency Theatre, but also to this group of children who I suspect grow weary of prince and princess tales!”

Friday, July 14th the curtains will rise on ‘10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse’ by Don Zolidis. The show   is a short play about some survivors who demonstrate TEN methods to survive ferocious zombie attacks!

“So basically,” noted Dennison, “it's the end of the world and hordes of rampaging zombies are about to kill you. What do you do?  Try your hand at kung Fu against the undead? Attempt to reason with creatures that would rather eat brains than use them? You’ll have to show up to find out!”

The Zombie survival techniques will begin promptly at 8pm, with tickets on sale at the door for $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12. “This show meant working with minimal stage and costumes, but really allowed us to focus on a specialty make up, working with latex and putty as well as bruise and death wheel colours,” noted Dennison.

“I’ve had some great help this year from fellow guild members, like Oliva Dorsett, Sean Thompson, Kay Hardy, Maninder Versolatto and Sarah Kirkby and we are very thankful to have seasoned and experienced director Cyndii Lane helping.”

For those looking to attend, this is a comedy, also a fun, safe family event for those not too faint of heart. The actors are excited and ready to put on an amazing show, all while providing those all-important zombie survival tips because you never know when a zombie apocalypse might break out in your neighborhood.
