Exactly one month ago on May 22nd 2017, the Minister of Education, Hon. Jeffrey L. Lloyd, visited Gambier and Adelaide Primary Schools, and publically expressed the desires of the teachers who had asked for more technology in the classroom.

On seeing this news report, Melisa Wright jumped into action and gathered a few of her friends (Leroy Sumner and Shirl Deveaux) to begin a project called "The Blair Laptop Project" ("The BLP"). The goal of the BLP is to independently assist the Government in its mandate to place technology at the fingertips of students around the family islands, which will assist in "modernizing teaching and learning techniques".

On June 15th, 2017, at the Graduation exercise for Gambier Primary, Melisa along with Shirl Deveaux made a donation of six (6) brand new laptops to the the Gambier Primary School. The students, parents and faculty were excited and very grateful for their contribution.

Mrs. Sheniqua Curry, Principal of Gambier Primary indicated that the donation was timely and she praised Melisa, Shirl and Leroy for investing in the school on the top of the hill. She dubbed the trio as '"the new friends of Gambier."

Ms. Wright told the students, parents and faculty of the Gambier Primary School that Gambier was the first school for the Blair Laptop Project and that she was excited to become a friend of the school as the school has been known for excellence.

Killarney's Member of Parliament, Prime Minister, Dr. The Hon. Hubert A. Minnis M. P., thanks the Killarney residents for their contribution to the community!

The next stop for the Blair Laptop Project is the Deep Creek Primary School in Deep Creek South Eleuthera. "
