GENERAL SITUATION: A cold front across Florida will move into the NW Bahamas by Thursday evening preceded by some pre-frontal activity. Meanwhile, a high pressure ridge across the Bahamas will recede eastward as front progresses through Central Bahamas Friday and the SE Bahamas on Saturday, and then exits the area. Another high pressure ridge will quickly rebuild across the Bahamas starting Sunday to early in the coming week.

Friday 07th - Partly to mostly cloudy, breezy and mild with early scattered showers or possible isolated thunderstorms. Maximum temperature 81F and minimum temperature 69°F. Small craft advisory for the NW and Central Bahamas early but becoming a caution later. Winds NW’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas behind the front, but decreasing to 15 to 20 knots later and variable at 10 knots or less in the Central and SE Bahamas ahead of the front. Seas 5 to 8 feet over the NW and Central Bahamas ahead of the front, dropping to 4 to 7 feet later and 3 feet or less over the Central and SE Bahamas ahead of the front.

Saturday 08th – Partly cloudy to cloudy, breezy and mild with scattered showers or an isolated thunderstorm mainly across the SE Bahamas through early afternoon. Partly cloudy to fair skies at night with few lingering showers likely. Maximum temperature 74°F and minimum temperature 69°F. Small craft advisory in the Central and SE Bahamas, but becoming a caution later. Winds NW to N at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and N to NE at 15 to 25 knots early in the Central and SE Bahamas, but decreasing 15 knots or less. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the NW Bahamas and 5 to 8 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas, dropping to 5 feet or less later in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Sunday 09th – Mostly cloudy skies early in the day turning partly cloudy by nighttime with the chance of some showers. Maximum temperature 77°F and minimum temperature 68°F. Winds NE to E at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas, increasing to 15 to 20 knots later and NE to E at 15 to 20 knots across the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the ocean building to 4 to 6 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Monday 10th – Mix of sun and clouds, warm and breezy during the day. Fewer clouds and windy at night. Maximum temperature 80ºF and minimum temperature 68ºF. Small craft advisory across the entire Bahamas. Winds NE to E at 15 to 25 knots across the entire Bahamas. Seas 6 to 9 feet across the ocean for the entire Bahamas.

Tuesday 11th – Partly to mostly sunny and warm with few passing daytime showers. Mostly fair and windy at night. Maximum temperature 81ºF and minimum temperature 70ºF. Small craft advisory across the entire Bahamas early, becoming a caution over the NW and Central Bahamas later. Winds NE to E at 15 to 25 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas, decreasing to 15 to 20 knots later and NE to E at 20 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 5 to 8 feet for NW and Central Bahamas, decreasing to 4 to 7 feet later and 6 to 9 feet in the SE Bahamas with light to moderate NE’ly to E’ly swells.

Wednesday 12th – Partly to mostly sunny and warm with the chance of passing showers mainly across the SE Bahamas during the day. Mainly fair and breezy at night with the chance of isolated showers. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 70°F. Small craft caution for all areas with stronger gusts. Winds NE to E at 15 to 20 knots but gusty at times for all areas. Seas 4 to 7 feet over the ocean for all areas but higher in gusts and light to moderate NE’ly to E’ly swells.

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers and thunderstorms.
