GENERAL SITUATION: High pressure ridge across the Bahamas will shift eastwards as high pressure centered north of the area moves east-southeastwards through Wednesday. A cold front will move across Florida early Thursday and then continue southeastwards into the Bahamas with some pre-frontal activity by Thursday night or early Friday morning. The cold front will continue to progress south-eastward through the Central and Southeast Bahamas Friday and Saturday, before exiting the area Sunday. A high pressure ridge will gradually rebuild across the Bahamas Saturday through Sunday.

Tuesday 04th – Partly to mostly sunny, breezy and warm with few isolated showers during the day, turning fair and mild at night. Maximum temperature 87ºF and minimum temperature 68ºF. Small craft should exercise caution in the SE Bahamas. Winds SE to S at 12 to 18 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas, decreasing to 10 knots or less later and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 3 to 5 feet over NW and Central Bahamas, decreasing to 2 to 4 feet later and 4 to 6 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Wednesday 05th – Partly to mostly cloudy and very warm with the chance of passing showers through the night. Maximum temperature 88°F and minimum temperature 70°F. Small craft caution continues for the SE Bahamas. Winds SE to S veering SSE to SSW at 10 to 15 knots with stronger gusts in the NW and Central Bahamas and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas, but higher in gusts and 4 to 6 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Thursday 06th
– Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly across the NW Bahamas through nightfall. Maximum temperature 90ºF and minimum temperature 74ºF. Small craft should exercise caution across the entire Bahamas early Thursday. Winds S to SW at 15 to 20 knots, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots later in the NW Bahamas and ESE to SSE at 15 to 20 knots, decreasing to 05 to 10 knots later in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet over the ocean for all areas, and then dropping to 2 to 4 feet or less later.

Friday 07th - Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers or isolated thunderstorm mainly over the Central and SE Bahamas through night time. Maximum temperature 84F and minimum temperature 63°F. Brief Small craft caution for the NW Bahamas early. Winds NW’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the NW Bahamas, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots later and SSE to SSW at 10 to 15 knots, falling light and variable at times before shifting NW to N at 10 to 15 Knots late. Seas 5 to 8 feet in the NW Bahamas, dropping to 2 to 4 feet later and 2 to 4 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas.

Saturday 08th – Partly cloudy to cloudy with lingering scattered showers or an isolated thunderstorm mainly across the Central and SE Bahamas through nightfall. Maximum temperature 77°F and minimum temperature 64°F. Small craft advisory early morning for Gulf Stream area between Bimini and West End Grand Bahama. Winds NW’ly at 15 to 25 knots between Bimini and Grand Bahama during the early morning, decreasing to 10 to 15 knots later, as NNW to NNE winds at 10 to 15 knots continues elsewhere, falling light and variable at times. Seas 5 to 8 feet between Bimini and Grand Bahama early, then dropping to 2 to 4 feet later as all other areas run 2 to 4 feet.

Sunday 09th – Variable clouds and mild during the day and night time with a possible few showers around the Central and SE Bahamas Maximum temperature 79°F and minimum temperature 65°F. Winds NNE to ENE at 10 to 15 knots across the entire Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the ocean for all areas.

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers and thunderstorms.
