Atlantis Senior Vice President of Public Affairs & Retail, Ed Fields presented the Bahamas Red Cross with a cheque totaling some $63,000 Friday, March 31st.

The donation is part of a continued effort by Atlantis, Paradise Island to aid hurricane relief efforts for the islands of The Bahamas adversely affected by the recent ravages of hurricane Matthew.

Immediately following 2016’s onslaught by monster hurricane Matthew, Atlantis made an appeal to its guests and friends to donate to a relief effort through its youcaring.com campaign.

The mega-resort property at that time committed to matching donations dollar for dollar up to $250,000.

In October 2016, Atlantis and the NCAA MidAmerican Conference (MAC) each presented the Bahamas Red Cross with cheques of $50,000 as part of that initiative. MAC is the host conference of the Popeye’s Bowl held every December in Nassau.

This most recent presentation, according to Fields, undoubtedly shows Atlantis’ commitment to enhancing the lives and communities of Bahamians. “We are just happy to be in a position to assist the Bahamas Red Cross in their cause of aiding those persons who need the help.

As a corporate citizen of The Bahamas, Atlantis as a collective recognizes that our community’s success spells success for us and vice-versa and so from the start we made it a point to structure our community “giving” in a way that would make a significant impact on not only the communities throughout the island of New Providence, but The Bahamas as a whole,” Fields explained.

Atlantis has also donated ten container trailers of furniture to the Red Cross for disbursement to Freeport and the other family islands as well as a container of hurricane supplies inclusive of mats, pillows and blankets.
