February 24th – 26th marked the fourth Festival Rum Bahamas, and it was electric! The three-day festival gave event goers a taste of Bahamian culture with unique takes on local dishes, 5 star Bahamian and regional entertainment, and of course lots of RUM.

The rum world was all on display from global brands such as Bacardi, Mount Gay, and Captain Morgan, to regional and “micro-rums” such as Ron Ricardo, Plantation Rum, Bumbarra, and Afrohead.

Since the start of the festival in 2014 the Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC) has partnered with the festival since 2015, featuring Coca-Cola, and Barritts Ginger Beer each year. Last year CBC worked with the Festival Rum Bahamas team to introduce the market to the now very popular Schweppes Grapefruit, mixed with Bacardi Superior and dubbed “White Lightening”.

As a result of the company’s history with the festival, and the success it provided Schweppes Grapefruit, CBC worked with the team to create an experience unlike any other at the festival.

“Festival Rum Bahamas has a strong history of bringing culture, and experiences to life, with the pirate troops, cooking expos, rum sampling, cigar rolling, etc.” explains Cara Douglas, Marketing Manager – CBC. “so we knew that partnering with them would result in an amazing experience both for the public in general, and our select audience.”

Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC), the local producer and distributor of Coca-Cola products here in the Bahamas, had been working with the Festival Rum Bahamas for nearly four months to plan the “re-introduction” of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar during the festival.

“Coca-Cola Original is one of the largest brands in the world, with global recognition, and the Bahamian market is no different,” says Karla Wells-Lisgaris, Brand Manager.

“We leveraged this brand love to attract customers to our VIP Experience at Festival Rum Bahamas, once there we share with them our exciting news about Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.

Everyone truly had a wonderful time, and the through extensive sampling throughout the weekend we believe that Coca-Cola Zero Sugar brand love has begun to grow.”

CBC’s approach to their sponsorship was multi fold. The VIP Coca-Cola Experience on Friday Night was complete with a private deck, private Coca-Cola inspired tasting menu, and all of the excitement the festival offers.

For the rest of the weekend Coca-Cola offered the public henna tattoos, interactive games, endless Coca-Cola Zero Sugar samples, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar rum samples, and much more The rums featured during the Coca-Cola Zero Sugar rum samples included Bacardi Anejo, Bacardi Superior, Ron Ricardo Gold, and Ron Ricardo Silver.

Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is a zero sugar, zero calorie carbonated beverage that is currently available nationwide in both 12oz cans, and 20oz bottles.
