GENERAL SITUATION: High pressure ridge will continue to dominate the weather across the Bahamas through Thursday, then exit east of the area as a cold front moves into the Northwest Bahamas Friday morning. Another strong high pressure ridge will extend over the Bahamas as a weak cold front becomes stationary in the Southeast Bahamas on Sunday.

Tuesday 28th – Partly sunny, breezy and warm with few showers mainly across the NW and SE Bahamas during the day. Partly cloudy to fair skies and breezy at night. Max temperature 84F and minimum temperature 66F. Small craft caution for all areas but an advisory for SE Bahamas late. Winds E’ly at 15 to 20 knots across the entire Bahamas, increasing to 15 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas late. Seas 4 to7 feet across the entire Bahamas, building to 5 to 8 feet late in the SE Bahamas.

Wednesday 01st – Mostly sunny and warm but lingering showers, cloudy periods and breezy at times in the SE Bahamas. Mainly fair and mild at night except for few showers in the SE Bahamas. Maximum temperature 84°F and minimum temperature 64°F. Small craft caution for the NW and Central Bahamas and an advisory for the SE Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 15 to 20 knots over the NW and Central Bahamas, falling to 15 knot or less in the NW Bahamas by afternoon. Winds E’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 7 feet over the NW and Central Bahamas, falling 3 to 5 feet in the NW Bahamas later and 5 to 8 feet over the SE Bahamas.

Thursday 02nd – Mostly sunny and warm during the day. Fair and mild at night. Maximum temperature 85°F and minimum temperature 72F. Small craft caution in the SE Bahamas. Wind SE to S at 10 to 15 knots, falling light and variable at times in the NW Bahamas; E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central Bahamas and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Friday 03rd – Partly cloudy and warm with isolated showers during the day. Increasing clouds and breezy across the NW Bahamas at night but fair and mild elsewhere. Maximum temperature 83F and minimum temperature 70°F. Small craft caution for the NW Bahamas late. Winds light and variable across the NW Bahamas, increasing to 15 to 20 knots late and E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 1 to 3 feet in the NW Bahamas, building to 4 to 6 feet late and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Saturday 04th – Increasing clouds and breezy with widely scattered showers or a possible isolated thunderstorm affecting some islands during the day through night time. Maximum temperature 79°F and minimum temperature 68°F. Small craft advisory across the entire Bahamas. Winds NE to E at 20 to 25 knots with stronger gusts across the entire Bahamas. Seas 6 to 9 feet across the entire Bahamas but higher in gusts.

Sunday 05th – Partly to mostly cloudy, breezy and mild with few scattered showers or the chance of a thunderstorm near the frontal zone during the day through night time. Maximum temperature 79°F and minimum temperature 69°F. Small craft advisory across the entire Bahamas, falling to a caution across the NW Bahamas late. Winds NE to E at 20 to 25 knots and gusty at times across all areas, falling to 15 to 20 knots late in the NW Bahamas. Seas 6 to 9 feet over the entire Bahamas but higher in gusts, decreasing to 4 to 7 feet over the NW Bahamas late.

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers and thunderstorms.
