GENERAL SITUATION: A weak cold front will move into the NW Bahamas this afternoon and continue eastwards through Tuesday. High pressure ridge across the Bahamas will slide eastwards as a cold front moves through the NW Bahamas late Thursday or early Friday, followed by building high pressure system over the eastern United States on the weekend.

Tuesday 07th – Partly sunny and warm with the chance of passing showers during the day. Partly cloudy to fair with the slight chance of a shower at night. Max temperature 82F and minimum temperature 66F. Small craft caution for the Central and SE Bahamas until mid-day. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots decreasing to 10 to 15 knots after mid-day in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas and 4 to 7 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas decreasing to 2 to 4 feet later.

Wednesday 08th – Partly cloudy to cloudy with few scattered showers across the NW and SE Bahamas during the day. Fair and mild at night. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 66°F. Winds SSE to SSW at 10 to 15 knots, falling light and variable at times for all areas. Seas 2 to 4 feet over the Bahamas for all areas.

Thursday 09th – Mostly sunny and warm during the day but fair and mild at night for most areas except cloudy periods with scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms in the NW Bahamas. Maximum temperature 83°F and minimum temperature 68F. Winds variable at 10 knots or less for all areas, but occasionally S to SW at 10 to 15 knots in the NW Bahamas. Seas 1 to 3 feet over the ocean for all areas but occasionally 2 to 4 feet in the NW Bahamas.

Friday 10th – Partly sunny, windy and mild during the day. Few clouds, cool and windy at night. Maximum temperature 77F and minimum temperature 64°F. Small craft an advisory for the entire Bahamas. Winds N to NE at 10 to 15 knots at first but increasing to 15 to 25 knots across the entire Bahamas throughout the day. Seas 2 to 4 feet at first but building to 5 to 8 feet over the ocean later.

Saturday 11th – Partly cloudy and breezy with the chance of isolated showers during the day. Fair and breezy over the NW Bahamas but lingering clouds and clouds and windy over the Central and SE Bahamas. Maximum temperature 78°F and minimum temperature 64°F. Small craft advisory in the Central and SE Bahamas and a caution for the NW Bahamas. Winds NE to E at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas, NE to E at 15 to 25 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet across the NW Bahamas and 5 to 8 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Sunday 12th – Partly sunny, breezy and warm with a chance of passing showers during the day. Mostly fair, breezy and warm at night. Maximum temperature 79°F and minimum temperature 69°F. Small craft advisory in the SE Bahamas and a caution across the NW and Central Bahamas. Winds E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas and NE to E at 20 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet over the NW and Central Bahamas, and 6 to 9 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers and thunderstorms.
