Bahamasair still requires $6 million more in taxpayer subsidies than it received in the 2010-2011 Budget, it was revealed yesterday, with net losses for the half-year to end December 2010 having risen by over 2 per cent to $9.5 million.
Disclosing that losses for that six-month period had expanded from 2009's $9.3 million, Neko Grant, minister of public works and transport, said: "The Government approved a subvention of $16 million for Bahamasair for the 2010-2011 fiscal year, which was $6 million less than that requested at that time.
