GENERAL SITUATION: High pressure ridge across the area will weaken as it moves further east of the Bahamas through mid week when a weak cold front will skirt part of the area. High pressure ridge rebuilds across the area until another stronger cold front approaches the Northwest Bahamas by late weekend.

Tuesday 17th – Partly to mostly sunny, warm and breezy during the day with few passing showers likely. Fair and mild tonight. Maximum temperature 81°F and minimum Temperature 66°F. Small advisory for Central and SE Bahamas and a caution in early morning for NW Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas, then E’ly at10 to15 knots later and E’ly at 15 to 25 knots through early afternoon, becoming E’ly at 15 to 20 knots later in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet across the NW Bahamas decreasing to 2 to 4 feet later but 6 to 9 feet across the Central and SE Bahamas decreasing to 4 to 7 feet later.

Wednesday 18th – Mostly Sunny and warm with breezy conditions across the SE Bahamas. Fair and mild tonight. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 67°F. Winds E to SE at 10 knots or less in the NW Bahamas and E‘ly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 3 feet or less in the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Thursday 19th – Mostly sunny and warm during the day. Fair and mild at night. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 66°F. Winds variable at 10 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas and NE to E at 10 to 15 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 3 feet or less in the NW and Central Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the SE Bahamas.

Friday 20th – Mostly sunny and warm. Fair and mild. Maximum temperature 83F and minimum temperature 68°F. Winds SE to S at 10 knots or less and NE to E at 10 knots or less in the Central and SE Bahamas, falling light and variable at times. Seas 1 to 3 feet across the Bahamas.

Saturday 21st – Mostly sunny and warm with few showers near the front. Fair and mild at night. Maximum temperature 83°F and minimum temperature 66°F. Winds SE to S at 10 knots or less in the NW and Central Bahamas and E’ly at 10 knots or less in the SE Bahamas. Seas 1 to 3 feet across the Bahamas.

Sunday 22nd – Mostly sunny and warm with the slight chance of a passing shower. Fair and mild at night. Maximum temperature 82°F and minimum temperature 64°F. Winds S’ly at 15 knots or less in the NW Bahamas and SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 3 to 5 feet over the NW Bahamas and 1 to 3 feet over the Central and SE Bahamas.

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers or possible thunderstorms.
