GENERAL SITUATION: A surface trough near the SE Bahamas will trigger some showers in the area through Wednesday while a large ridge of high pressure gradually moves southward and weaken. A second cold front enters the Northwest Bahamas on Thursday followed by fresh to strong breezes from a building high pressure system over the United States of America.

Monday 12th – Partly cloudy to cloudy and windy with a few scattered showers and or isolated thunderstorms across the NW Bahamas through nightfall, continuing partly cloudy and windy elsewhere. Max Temperature 82°F and Min Temperature 70°F. Small craft advisory for all areas in the morning but transitions into a caution or less for some areas by afternoon . Winds SE to S at 15 to 25 knots in the NW and Central, Bahamas but decreasing to 15 to 20 knots or less later and E to SE at 20 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas, dropping to 15 to 20 knots later. Seas 5 to 8 feet for NW and Central Bahamas, decreasing near 4 to 6 feet later and 6 to 9 feet over the SE Bahamas becoming 4 to 6 feet later. Moderate to large SE’ly swells in the NW Bahamas and light to moderate N’ly to NE’ly swells in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Tuesday 13th – Partly to mostly cloudy with some scattered showers or isolated thunderstorms across the NW and SE Bahamas but turning fair by nightfall. Max Temperature 85°F and Min Temperature 73°F. Small craft caution for the SE Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas, falling light and variable at times and E’ly at 15 to 20 knots in the SE Bahamas decreasing to 15 knots late. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas and 4 to 6 feet in the SE Bahamas, decreasing to 3 to 5 feet late. Moderate to large SE’ly swells in the NW Bahamas and light to moderate N’ly to NE’ly swells in the Central and SE Bahamas.

Wednesday 14th – Partly sunny and warm few scattered showers or possible isolated thunderstorms mainly across the Central and SE Bahamas. Max Temperature 86°F and Min Temperature 72°F. Small craft caution continues for the SE Bahamas. Winds SE to S at 10 to 15 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas and E to SE at 15 to 20 knots early, but decreasing to 10 to 15 knots late. Seas 2 to 4 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas but 4 to 6 feet in the SE Bahamas, decreasing to 2 to 4 feet late. Light to moderate mixed swells over all areas.

Thursday 15th – Mostly sunny and warm with few cloudy periods or scattered showers during the day through nightfall. Max Temperature 85°F and Min Temperature 72°F. Winds variable at 10 knots or less in the NW Bahamas and E’ly at 10 to 15 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 3 feet or less in the NW Bahamas and 2 to 4 feet in the Central and SE Bahamas. Light to moderate mixed swells for all areas.

Friday 16th – Partly cloudy to cloudy and windy with a slight chance of a shower through nightfall. Max Temperature 82°F and Min Temperature 72°F. Small craft advisory for the NW and Central Bahamas and a caution for the SE Bahamas. Winds N to NE at 15 to 25 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas increasing to 25 to 30 knots late and E’ly at 15 to 25 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 5 to 8 feet building to 10 to 14 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas later and 5 to 8 feet over the SE Bahamas. Light to moderate mixed swells through early afternoon, building to large NE’ly to E’ly swells through the night for all areas.

Saturday 17th – Partly cloudy and windy with the slight chance of a passing shower or two through nightfall. Max Temperature 80°F and Min Temperature 74°F. Small craft should stay near port - advisories posted for all areas. Winds E’ly at 20 to 25 knots in the NW and Central Bahamas, and E’ly at 25 to 30 knots in the SE Bahamas. Seas 6 to 9 feet in the NW and Central Bahamas and 10 to 14 feet in the SE Bahamas. Large to very large NE’ly to E’ly swells across all areas.

Sunday 18th –Partly sunny and breezy with the slight chance of a shower during the day, turning fair and mild at night. Max Temperature 81°F and Min Temperature 74°F.Small craft caution for the NW Bahamas and an advisory in effect for Central and SE Bahamas. Winds E to SE at 15 to 20 knots in the NW Bahamas decreasing late and E’ly at 20 to 25 knots in the Central and SE Bahamas. Seas 4 to 6 feet in the NW Bahamas decreasing to 2 to 4 feet late and 6 to 9 feet the Central and SE Bahamas. Light to moderate NE’ly swells across all areas.

Beachgoers and mariners should exercise extreme caution due to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf, especially along the northern and eastern shorelines during stated advisories. Winds and seas will be higher in heavy showers or thunderstorms.
