The National Emergency Management Agency, Nema. Is In The Process Of Coordinating Efforts To Resuce And Evacuate Residents Who Find Themselves Trapped In Their Homes Due To Excessive Flooding Caused By The Powerful Hurricane Matthew.

nema Has Not Authorised Anyone To Take It Upon Themselves To Go Out In Flooded Communities And Rescue People, Putting All Lives In Harms Way.

nema Is Asking Individuals With Heavy Duty Trucks And 10 Wheelers To Volunteer Their Services In This Rescue Effort.

they Are Asked To Call Nema And Provide Their Names And Telephone Contacts To Be Added To A List Of Volunteers And Will Receive Directions From Lt Commander Freddie Brown Of The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Regarding The Coordinated Exercise.

nema Is Further Advising Residents To Remain Indoors And Not Wander Into Flooded Streets And As Much As Possible, Remain Safe.
