Miss World Bahamas swimsuit, top model and designer showcase highlights

Ashley Hamilton (Long Island), Shanice Burrows (Staniel Cay) and Geena Thompson (Eleuthera) emerged top three in the Sands Beer swimsuit competition; while Andrea Bowleg (New Providence), Hamilton and Thompson rose to top positions in the top model fashion show in a triple-header competition as the contestants gear up for the final push to choose the ambassador that will be crowned Miss World Bahamas 2016.

Myrlande Julien who created a two-piece ensemble worn by Pischia Adderley (Paradise Island) received top honors in the Commonwealth Fabrics designer showcase featuring the creations of Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institution design students during the Monday, July 11 competition.

Rounding out the top three was Janet Cooper who crafted Bryneeah Gray's (Bimini) outfit and Kirkwood Deal and Keisha Strachan who created a tailored white suit worn by Hamilton.

As the road to the crown continues, the contestants will participate in a float parade and national dress competition tomorrow in Pompey Square, Bay Street; and the Debonaire Boutique evening gown competition and talent showcase on Sunday at Sapodilla, West Bay Street. The finale is set for July 24 at the Melia Nassau Beach All Inclusive. Tickets are available at Airbrush Junkies in the Mall at Marathon, or from any Miss Bahamas contestant.
