The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and “Boat 4 A Day” are partnering in the first ever, Bahamas Yacht and Travel Show which is slated for June 17, 18 and 19 at Bay Street Marina.

The non-profit three-day boat show will promote all sea travel and guest-related products inclusive of Florida-based travel representatives and yacht brokers. There will be a myriad of vendors to include chartered yachts and other charter options; hotels, marinas, resort wear, excursions and anything that is marketed to tourists to promote travel to our shores.

The weekend of June 17-19 will be chock full of family-friendly fun featuring, local talent, live bands, a resort wear fashion show with the Miss Bahamas contestants, a culinary competition and lots of activities for the entertainment of children.

The concept of hosting such a show was birthed from wanting to create a yacht and travel show in Nassau so that small businesses in the Bahamas’ marine industry would have the opportunity to market their products and increase their exposure from The Bahamas to both a local and international audience .The organizers of the event also wanted to generate tourist-based interest in what the Bahamas has to offer, especially focusing on the boutique style of travel in The Bahamas.

“We at Boat 4 A Day will be showcasing our collection of available charter yachts, along with several other local companies that offer charter services in our waters,” said Shannon Bruce, “Boat 4 a Day”, referring to the event.

“Additionally, we will have other complimentary and like-minded entities participating as vendors / exhibitors, thus creating a well-rounded selection of some of The Bahamas' finest.”

A major part of organizing the yacht and travel show is to give back to the community. The Bahamas National Sailing School will be the recipient of proceeds of an auction of different items including a yacht charter and a vacation to one of the islands.

“We are extremely pleased to be teaming up with “Boat-4-A-Day” to host the first Charter and Travel Show in The Bahamas,” The Ministry of Tourism said in a statement. “As most people are aware, the charter market is very lucrative one, worldwide. It is estimated that in excess of 14.1 billion dollars is generated from the industry annually.

“The Bahamas provides more opportunities than any of our nearby Caribbean brothers and sisters and as such, the interest to our country is substantial.”
