Silver Airways Inaugural Flight to Nassau Celebrate

The Ministry of Tourism and Nassau Airport Development Company celebrated Silver Airways Inaugural Flight to Nassau, May 26, 2016. The airline began service between points in Florida -- Tampa, Naples/Fort Myers, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach – and Nassau, Bahamas.

Photos show touchdown at Lynden Pindling International Airport, and greetings by Bahamian Government officials including the Minister of Tourism the Hon. Obie Wilchcombe, Minister of Transport and Aviation the Hon. Glenys Hanna-Martin, Director General of Tourism Joy Jibrilu, Deputy Director General of Tourism Tommy Thompson, President and CEO of Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD) Vernice Walkine, and Airport Authority General Manager, Milo Butler III. Also present was the US Embassy Charge d’Affaires Lisa Johnson.

A reception was held; and there was a gift exchange of framed artwork of a Bahamian scene to Silver Airways CEO Sami Teittinen, who presented the Government Ministers with a miniature model airplane of Silver Airways.
