A 30-year-old woman accused of the murder and armed robbery of a popular radio personality showed no emotion yesterday as she was jeered by his colleagues outside court.

Raquel Johnson surrendered to police on Saturday shortly after police announced that they wanted to question her about the May 26 murder of ZNS gospel radio deejay Scott Richards.

Police on routine patrol near Bonefish Pond, a wetlands reserve off Cowpen Road, became suspicious when they saw Richards' SUV parked in the area shortly before 10 a.m.

His bullet-riddled body was discovered about 100 feet away from his vehicle, police said.

Richards' coworkers chanted "justice for Scottie" outside the Magistrates' Court Complex on South Street.

Johnson was not represented by an attorney when she appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes.

Prosecutors allege that Johnson murdered Richards, 48, and robbed him of an iPhone 3G, valued at $300.

She was not required to enter a plea to the charges and has been remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.

Johnson makes her next court appearance on June 27 when it is expected that the matter will be forwarded to the Supreme Court by a voluntary bill of indictment.

The courtroom was packed with Richards' supporters, policemen and members of the media, but no one was there to support Johnson.
