Bahamian violinists perform at United Nations

STRING City Violinists, a Bahamian musical group previously known as Melodious Strings and consisting of 27 violinists aged between five and 14, performed at the United Nations in New York last week.

Formed in September 2010 by Adelia Major-Davis, String City Violinists have performed in numerous places in their home town of Nassau, including the Coral Towers at Atlantis, Paradise Island, The Mall at Marathon, school events, church services, a love concert that raised funds for the Cancer Society of The Bahamas and have hosted three violin recitals.

Following their performance at the UN, a reception was hosted for them by Dr. Elliston Rahming, Bahamas ambassador to the United Nations and the Organization of the American States.
