Peter Turnquest on a bus

Dear Editor,

I wish to comment on something that happened earlier this week. I brought my car in for service and the dealership offered a shuttle bus at 8:20am to take me to my morning destination - work, home, wherever. It is a great service. The bus at that particular morning was packed - about eight or nine passengers. I was one of the first ones to get onboard.

To my surprise, one of the last to embark was the FNM deputy leader Peter Turnquest. He made no fuss or muss. Simply proceeded to the back of the bus where a seat was available after greeting everyone. Upon his departure, with briefcase, papers and suit jacket in hand, he simply remarked "Have a wonderful day". This was a breath of fresh air. To see a civil servant of that stature use a shuttle bus service was refreshing.

Rather than having a family member, friend or subservient member of his party pick him up from the car dealership, he chose to quietly and unassumingly take the shuttle bus. Kudos to you Peter Turnquest! Perhaps Fred Mitchell could learn a lesson here.
