Passengers traveling through the Domestic/International Terminal at Lynden Pindling International Airport are finding that the newly-opened Lignum Club is meeting all their expectations as they await flights to their respective destinations.

Staff members of the Ministry of Tourism on Thursday, January 14, 2016 got first-hand view and experience of the modern facility, experienced the hospitality of employees at the Club’s lounge, and received feedback from passengers awaiting their flight. Members of the Royal Bahamas Police Force were also given a tour of the facilities.

Daniel Salcedo a visitor from Miami who traveled to Nassau for a week-long business meeting raved about the “excellent” service he experienced in the lounge.

“I took advantage of all the services. Meals, newspapers, Internet and the quiet environment,” he said. Salcedo also pointed out the business area at which he was able to access his emails and other services to keep in touch with his office while here.

Other passengers quietly enjoyed coffee, soft drinks, watched flat screen TVs in HD, flipped through magazines and read newspapers to pass away the time.

The club offers food and beverage options, a business centre, computer workstations, a full-service bar, cable television, and private meeting space and concierge services.

The Lignum Club, officially opened in October 2015, is the first for that section of LPIA where Family Island passengers can access such facilities solidifying the airport’s status as a regional and global leader in airport services. It also showcases the unique Bahamian culture in design, and décor particularly with framed paintings of local historic scenery and flora and fauna.

The Lignum Club was developed by, and will be operated by, the Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD). The club is open to all passengers traveling through Terminal A (Domestic and International wing), including domestic travelers. A partnership has also been formed with Priority Club, and is a member of 700 premium airport lounges within the Priority Club network.

At the official opening last year, Vernice Walkine, President and CEO of NAD noted that with 10 million members around the world, the Priority Pass is recognized as the world's largest independent airport lounge access program.

The Club’s lounge offers travelers another option to relax and enjoy their transit en route to their destinations. It is an addition to the variety of dining, shopping and relaxation amenities available at the airport. The Club will be operated by NAD and will feature food and beverage options, a business centre, computer workstations, a full-service bar, cable television, and private meeting space and concierge services.
