The Bahamas will be represented two-fold during the 2015 Miss World pageant in contestant Chantel O'Brien and Julien Believe who has been invited to perform as the show's featured artist. Julien will appear twice during the pageant's broadcast -- once with the contestants dancing to his hit song, Caribbean Slide, which will put his talent before a global audience of more than one billion viewers.

"I am ecstatic, humbled, and grateful," said Julien. "This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I would like to sincerely thank Chantel and the Miss Bahamas Organization for choosing my song."

The opportunity arose for Julien to perform at the pageant in Sanya, China, on December 19 after Miss World Bahamas Chantel O'Brien danced to Julien's Caribbean Slide during a segment of the pageant called Dances of the World, while wearing a Judiva Deleveaux designed national dress costume. Her performance was said to be so engaging that the MWO sought to find out more about the song and the musician. One thing led to another, and it culminated with MWO extending an invitation to the artist to become a part of the event.

Miss Bahamas President Michelle Malcom said the organization was thrilled that a performance of one of its queens would open the door to an incredible break for a Bahamian artist.

"This just goes to show what great things can happen when Bahamians work together," she said. "When Chantel approached Julien to use his song, he offered to allow her to use it at no charge. Next thing you know, he's the featured artist in the Miss World show. We are very happy for him, and we know that he is going to do an amazing job representing our country to the world," said Malcolm.

The Miss World pageant will air on E! Bahamians are encouraged to support O'Brien by downloading the Miss World app and voting for her to advance to the semifinals as the people's choice. Votes are free and you can vote as many times as you like. O'Brien is currently in the Top 25 for the People's Choice vote. She has also advanced to the Top 30 of the Talent Competition and is hoping to advance to the finals in that category.
