Sun Oil hopes to capture 10 percent of the country's engine oil market through the launch of a new line of Pennzoil engine lubricants, representing a "complete evolution" of the company's product offerings.

Sun Oil Marketing Manager Rufus Johnson welcomed the company's use of Pennzoil's line of synthetic motor oils, stating, "By bringing the product into the market initially, we're hoping to gain a 10 percent market share. Currently in the market prior to now we carried the [Shell] Helix brand. Due to popular consumer demand, the Helix brand is being phased out of the market and will be replaced with Pennzoil."

Pennzoil products are designed with Shell's revolutionary Pure Plus Technology - a full synthetic line of lubricants made from natural gas and enhanced with a unique combination of conditioning agents and high-performance additives that keep a vehicle's engine clean and responsive.

Pennzoil Regional Marketing Manager Sergio Roldan believes that Pennzoil's line of products is a "great fit" for the Bahamian market, stating that Pennzoil's line would remain price competitive while still providing premium quality to Bahamian motorists.

"Pennzoil is the number one brand in the United States for 20 years running, so we expect to carry some of that success over to The Bahamas... We're confident that this answers a demand from consumers and we're looking forward to rapid growth," said Roldan.

The Pennzoil products will be available at Shell stations and select retailers beginning today.
