Cole's of Nassau founder dies at 94

Marion Cole, 94, founder of Cole's of Nassau, died peacefully at her Winton Highway home at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday surrounded by family.

Cole, originally from Toronto, Canada, visited The Bahamas in 1944. While here she met her late husband, F.L. Peter Cole. They were married on January 24, 1946. In 1956 she established her successful business, Cole's of Nassau.

Cole is survived by her two daughters, Linda Pritchard and Diane Cole Morley; four sons, Denis, Peter, Brock and James Cole; her son-in-law, Hugh Pritchard; daughters-in-law, Nicola Cole, Phillippa Cole, Annabel Cole and Katrina Cole; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
