After being in The Bahamas for two decades, SuperClubs Breezes marked the occasion with a staff appreciation luncheon and awards ceremony. The event marking 20 years in the country was held on Wednesday, September 2, at the resort. In attendance was Prime Minister the Right Hon. Perry G. Christie, who hailed Chairman of SuperClubs John Issa as a pioneer who serves as an exemplar of a hotelier.

“Mr. Issa has been a pioneer in this industry, who has established a relationship with the people who work for his organization,” said Mr. Christie. “He has seen the importance to communicate in a special way because he understands that the most important asset he has is his staff.”

Mr. Issa said that it has been a pleasure doing business in The Bahamas. “During the hustle and bustle of the day, we may not recognize efforts of the members of the team,” said Mr. Issa. “But what has struck me as most important is that more than most of the staff have been here since we established our hotel here, and nearly half have been here even before that.”

Staff members were treated to a three-course lunch, complete with beverage service. Entertainment was provided by Baha Men and Colours Junkanoo Band (which performs at the resort every Friday evening). Several members of staff were presented with awards for their contributions and long service to the organization.

SuperClubs Resorts is a pioneer in the hotel industry having introduced the concept of 'all-inclusive' resorts in l978. In 1995, Breezes Bahamas, previously known as the Ambassador Beach Hotel, was acquired by SuperClubs and underwent extensive renovations transforming into an all-inclusive resort. The resort opened in September 1995.

The hotel is located on the eastern side of the Cable Beach strip and offers a four-storey east wing and eight-storey west wing building. There are 391 air-conditioned rooms and suites.
