The event marking 20 years in the country was held on Wednesday, September 2, at the resort. In attendance was Prime Minister the Right Hon. Perry G. Christie, who hailed Chairman of SuperClubs John Issa as a pioneer who serves as an exemplar of a hotelier.
"Mr. Issa has been a pioneer in this industry, who has established a relationship with the people who work for his organization," said Mr. Christie. "He has seen the importance to communicate in a special way because he understands that the most important asset he has is his staff."
Mr. Issa said that it has been a pleasure doing business in The Bahamas. "During the hustle and bustle of the day, we may not recognize efforts of the members of the team," said Mr. Issa. "But what has struck me as most important is that more than most of the staff have been here since we established our hotel here, and nearly half have been here even before that."
Staff members were treated to a three-course lunch, complete with beverage service. Entertainment was provided by Baha Men and Colours Junkanoo Band (which performs at the resort every Friday evening). Several members of staff were presented with awards for their contributions and long service to the organization.
