A man who was shot by police during a stand-off in Englerston last month will be monitored electronically, a magistrate ruled.
Michael Hilton Darling, 49, of Charles Vincent Street, is accused of threatening a female police officer with a knife and box cutter on December 10.
Officers shot Darling in the leg, claiming they feared for their lives.
Darling appeared before Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis yesterday on charges of assault with a dangerous instrument and threats of death.
He is the first person to be outfitted with an ankle bracelet since the government agreed to a contract with ICS Security Concepts and SecureAlert for the electronic monitoring of offenders.
