Free National Movement press statement 5 January 2011

It is astounding that any credence would be given to remarks made by PLP
Deputy Leader Philip Brave Davis on matters relative to the
privatization of BTC.  Mr. Davis represented Bluewater Ventures, a
dubious entity to which the Opposition sought to sell BTC at a fire sale
price.

Bluewater was a phantom company that was not publicly traded.  Moreover,
the details of the deal to sell to that shell company were shrouded in
secrecy and never revealed to the Bahamian people or their elected
representatives in the House of Assembly.

Bluewater had no track record in telecommunications, and unknown
beneficiaries.  The company also had no financial statements or
organizational support, and there was absolutely no clarity about its
shareholders.
