A judge on Thursday sentenced a murder convict to 30 years' imprisonment.

Christopher Wallace, nicknamed Minz, was convicted of the March 4, 2010 murder of Robert Jean St. Jean in March. The prosecution's case centered around a confession, which Wallace claimed he did not make voluntarily.

According to the statement, Wallace and Damian Bowe, now deceased, went to Fox Hill to kill Johnny Pierre, who is also known as Johnny Bravo. Jean St. Jean, also known as Blacks, was shot by mistake, Wallace said in the statement.

Investigator Sergeant Keith Rolle described Wallace as a "killer with a conscience", when questioned by defense lawyer Calvin Seymour about why his client confessed.

Wallace, who was on bail during his trial, has been in custody since his conviction in March. Kevin Farrington and Viola Barnett prosecuted. Justice Ian Winder sentenced Wallace.
