Armed robbers hit businesses

ARMED robbers stormed three businesses on Saturday stealing cash and sparking police investigations.

Keith's Chicken Shack in Fleming Street was robbed by a masked man armed with a high-powered weapon at around 2.15am on Saturday, police said.

The man, dressed in blue jeans and a white T-shirt, with a scarf tied around his face, stole an undetermined amount of cash from the restaurant before running off in an easterly direction.

That evening an armed robber held up staff at the VIP Chinese Express Restaurant in East Street and Cordeaux Avenue.
