Old Fort Bay Fund-raiser for Ranfurly, RBPF Dependents Fund

Thu, Dec 4th 2014, 12:30 PM

A group of business leaders and professionals, members of a well-known lodge, are gambling on open hearts and willing players to raise money for the Ranfurly Home for Children and the Royal Bahamas Police Force Dependents Trust when they host a charity fund-raising casino night at Old Fort Bay Club on Friday, December 12th, 2014.

“Last year, we raised more than $2,300 with Havana Night, which was a great success,” said Romi Ferreira, RWM (Rt. Worshipful Master), Lodge St. Joseph #1838 S.C. “This year we are taking it a step further to incorporate a casino-like atmosphere where everyone is a winner because funds raised are shared between the RBPF Dependents’ Fund and Ranfurly Home for Children. There are more than 100 children and

families who depended upon a member of the Royal Bahamas Police Force who lost his or her life or their ability to work and provide for their families while on the force and both their needs and the needs of the children at Ranfurly with so much history and so much promise are important for us all to support, particularly at this time of year.”

The event is set for 8 pm to midnight and includes dinner, dancing and drinks with music by deejay May Day. Sponsors include Old Fort Bay Club, Champagne Bollinger, Bristol Wines & Spirits, Bahamas Cigarette & Tobacco and the National Casino & Bartending School. Tickets are $80.00. Further information or to purchase tickets online, contact admin@oldfortbayclub.com or info@ferreiraandco.com or call 326-6433 or 323-7020.

“We are betting that this is a sure thing in a country that cares about those who are innocent victims of circumstances beyond their control and only want to do well in their lives,” said Ferreira, a popular TV show host, environmental lawyer and consultant and director of Save The Bays. “We hope to have a packed house for a super evening.”
