New realtors betting on youth, vision

Hartman G. Longley II is the broker and general manager of Leno Realty, an affiliate of Leno Corporate Services Ltd., and a realtor who makes much of his relative youth and energy in a market presided over by a definite "old guard".
In fact, Longley may be the youngest independent broker in The Bahamas, and he is excited about Leno Realty. The new company launched on October 1, and is looking to make a mark.
"The way we differentiate ourselves is through our creativity," he told Guardian Business, citing the use of technology, bringing fresh minds to the task and constant education and professional development as tools Leno Realty will employ to set themselves apart.
Longley also expected the new company to make a name for itself through its after-service relationships with clients, and in this way, leverage the affiliation with Leno Corporate.
"You want to be able to offer clients more than the average real estate agent can offer," he said.
The company has a mix of established agents and new trainees - those fresh minds who can offer new perspectives, Longley said. The company is ambitious: Longley looks forward to doing developments in addition to appraisals, and to growing the sales (residential and commercial), property management, concierge, business brokering - will have its own staff, with offices even in other jurisdictions.
"We'd like to be in that position in 10 years," he said.
"We intend to do more. We are down for healthy competition, but we are prepared to work for what we get."
