Local Wendy’s franchise owners and operators, Chris and Terry Tsavoussis, marked a major milestone this weekend with the soft opening of Wendy’s new two million dollar flagship restaurant on Pioneer’s Way and Mackenzie Street, in Grand Bahama.

The state-of-the-art 4,300 square foot restaurant brings to the market, a bistro-style family dining room with seating for 120, a signature Wendy’s Café with in-house fresh baked pastries and gourmet coffee, crystal clear digital screen menu boards, an extended drive thru, and nearly double the seating and parking capacity of the previous East Mall Drive location.

It was thirty-one years ago that Wendy’s on East Mall Drive opened as the first Wendy’s restaurant in the country. Over time, and with the increasing popularity of the brand, the business outgrew its home base, and saw the need for an upgrade. Acting on the request of local customers to expand, the decision was made to relocate, and no expense was spared in making this flagship location the largest and most impressive restaurant in the Wendy’s chain, built to date.

“The support Wendy’s has in Grand Bahama is amazing and we are confident that this new location will be the solution to the concerns of customers. The absolute best in quality was put into this flagship restaurant from the building, to the food, to all the services provided because quality is our recipe, and our customers deserve the very best,” explains Chris Tsavoussis.

With no formal announcement made the new store opened to a flurry of excited and curious customers eager to get a taste of the new “cut above” dining experience, and the delicious treats offered by Wendy’s Café.

In addition to signature hot and cold Lavazza, gourmet coffee beverages, Wendy’s Café is the exclusive distributor of decadent Cheesecake Factory cakes, another international brand synonymous with quality. This Café is the third to be opened, joining Wendy’s Cable Beach and the Airport Domestic Terminal location.

In just a few short days, the customer feedback in Grand Bahama has been tremendous and extremely positive, with new and seasoned customers stopping in to welcome the stylish and modern Wendy’s store, and expanded staff to the neighborhood.

A formal Grand Opening is being planned for November. Meanwhile, over one hundred franchise holders from Latin America and The Caribbean (LAC) market are scheduled to visit Grand Bahama in November to tour the restaurant as part of a Wendy’s LAC regional “travelling meeting.” The Bahamas franchise will be featured, along with proprietors Chris and Terry Tsavoussis, for their exceptional contribution to building the Wendy’s brand.
