It sits amidst the hustle and bustle of Paradise Island’s Marina Village, yet its old-world elegance and iconic style takes diners, seemingly, to another, more peaceful place in time…

Chef Jean-Georges Vongertichten’s Café Martinique – just one of several fine-dining options offered at the famed Atlantis, Paradise Island – was recently named among the 10 best Casino Restaurants in the world by Fodors.com.

Its traditional French cuisine accentuated with the tasty tropical flavours of the islands and charming ambience are the restaurant’s main draws, however according to the comments of many of its guests, it is the warm and friendly personality of the all-Bahamian staff that makes the difference.

“We have a total of 40 very qualified, professional and highly talented team members making up the staff complement at Café Martinique.

The General Manager Warren Curtis and Chef de Cuisine Lisa Rolle provide exceptional leadership there and this is proven through our F&B JD Power scores time and time again,” says Atlantis Food & Beverage Senior Vice President Ian Reid, adding that resort officials are “happy and excited that Café Martinique is ranked among the world’s top 10.

The professionalism and desire by those team members to make each and every one of their diners’ experience memorable is indicative of the culture that we whole-heartedly encourage at Atlantis, Paradise Island.”

In order to ensure that the highest level of professionalism in product and quality service is maintained, Chef Jean-Georges Vongertichten visits the restaurant several times a year.

Café Martinique was originally made famous by its appearance in the 1965 James Bond Classic, “Thunderball.” Among its notable features are a wrought-iron birdcage elevator, a dramatic mahogany staircase and elegantly etched glass windows.
